Abraham Lincoln’s father was a cabinetmaker. Thus Lincoln displayed an above average appreciation for fine wood cabinetry. We have captured and preserved the designs and specifications of the original furnishings in Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln’s Springfield, Illinois, home. Available in full-scale plans are items like the boot- jack Lincoln made, the pie safe designed and built by Abraham’s father, Thomas, the armoire Lincoln hung his suits, the shaving mirror from his bedroom, an elaborate corner cabinet also built by Lincoln’s father, and many other plans.
